End of Service
The date IBM stops providing standard hardware maintenance, machine code updates, and security patches for a given server model.
End of Service (EOS) is model-specific, not family-wide ... each Power8 model has its own EOS date, ranging from the E850's October 2023 date to the S812's July 2025 date. After EOS, IBM no longer commits to parts availability or firmware security patches for that model, though the hardware continues to function.
