End of Service
The date IBM stops providing standard hardware maintenance, machine code updates, and security patches for a given server model.
End of Service (EOS) is model-specific, not family-wide. Each Power8 model has its own hardware EOS date, ranging from the E850's October 2023 date to the S812's July 2025 date. IBM i 7.4 Service Extension is a separate software agreement and does not reopen hardware support.
