End of Service Life

EOSL

The point at which a vendor (or the market) considers a product life-cycle fully closed, sometimes used interchangeably with EOS but technically the broader, final milestone.

EOSL is sometimes used loosely as a synonym for End of Service (EOS), but strictly refers to the complete end of a product's supported life cycle, including any extended or paid-support options. For practical Power8 planning purposes, treat a model's published EOS date as the operative deadline.
