VIOS

Virtual I/O Server, the specialized PowerVM partition that shares physical storage and network adapters across other partitions on a Power system.

VIOS minimum supported levels change across Power generations; confirm your target generation's minimum VIOS level before migrating existing partition definitions off a Power8 system.
