Software Tier

P05-P30

IBM's processor-feature-linked licensing tier (P05 through P30) that determines IBM i software pricing on a given Power system.

A processor feature code's software tier changes across Power generations even for a workload of similar size, so re-pricing IBM i software against the destination system's tier is a required step in any Power8 migration budget, not an afterthought.
